the melting men

Artist Nele Azevedo created a disturbing and gorgeous series of ice sculptures. Her melting men was part of a Minimal Monument project that spanned several countries. It is a warning of the real dangers to mankind of global warning.

The simple but complex idea of creating hundreds of sculptures of people sitting on the steps of politically important buildings to peacefully but clearly protest with such a subtle and yet dramatic effect is genius.
